Hillary is a Midwest-based actor who has worked extensively in Chicago and regional theatre.
In 2007, she joined the ensemble of Chicago's Gift Theatre Company, where her roles include Donna in Hurlyburly, Elvira in Blithe Spirit, Irina in Three Sisters, Linda in Talk Radio, Ellen/Mrs. Saunders/Victoria in Cloud 9, Katie in Dirty, Widow in Vigils, Mari in Mine, and Crystal in Bethany.
In 2020, she joined the artistic board of Kansas City Actors Theatre, where her roles include Nora in A Doll’s House, Jo in Little Women, Clarissa in Spider’s Web, Maxine in Dial M for Murder, Sally in A Lie of the Mind, and voice work in several episodes of KCAT’s radio theatre series, including Sorry, Wrong Number, The Bickersons, and The Judge’s House.
Elsewhere, she has worked with Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Court Theatre, Steppenwolf Theatre Company, Writers' Theatre, Lookingglass Theatre Company, Indiana Repertory Theatre, American Players Theatre, ACT Seattle, Seattle Shakespeare Company, Asolo Repertory Theatre, the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival, Indiana Festival Theatre, Apple Tree Theatre, the Heart of America Shakespeare Festival, Coterie Theatre, and Kansas City Repertory Theatre. She has also appeared in a number of national commercials, feature films, web series, industrials, and voiceovers, and on NBC's "Chicago Fire."
Hillary is a proud member of Actors' Equity and SAG-AFTRA.
She is married to actor/director/educator Matt Schwader. They have two small, talkative children.
